I am the Artist and founder of Kala Art Studio. I was born and raised in India. Pearland is my home from past 20 years. My Passion for Art led me to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture in India and later associate degree in Interior design in Houston. I love Abstract theme for my paintings because I enjoy the freedom Abstract art provides and there is no boundaries for my imagination. I live and paint in Pearland, TX with my dog Bella.  I find art a challenge, which I will never tire of. For me, painting means that you are forever a student where the only constant is learning.  There is no subject matter that I like painting more than another. I think of still life, portraiture, or landscape fair game. Also, I find inspiration everywhere from the morning sunrise lighting up the tree tops to a child sleeping. Finding Inspiration is endless. Tessy Atcheson

Born in Kerala, India. Lived in France for 6 years, lived in England a year in order to learn English. I Have been to Spain many times. I got an opportunity to go to Mexico to teach French at Alliance Francaise. While I was in Mexico, I took my painting classes from a wonderful teacher named Patricia. I started with charcoal and I had a few lessons before I headed to US. I lived always in Pearland on and off. I took painting classes from five different teachers. Now I can paint in oil acrylic and water color. My latest passion is to paint portraits. Painting is my hobby. To make a living, I taught French, Spanish and English ESL.
